Director of Bands

Education:

B.A.S. Instrumental Music Education, Jacksonville State University (Jacksonville, AL)

Mr. Barkley took over as Band Director in April of 2017. He graduated from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, AL in December of 2016 with a degree in Instrumental Music Education. While at JSU, he was a member of the JSU Chamber Winds, Trombone Ensemble, Brass Choir, and the world-renowned Marching Southerners. He also taught private lessons to beginning band students and high school students, and worked as a Visual and Music Technician at Southside High School.

Kassie Barkley

Auxiliary Coordinator

Kassie Barkley is the wife of Mr. Barkley. Ms. Kassie was a member of the JSU Marching Southerners Color Guard for four years. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science and Wellness from Jacksonville State University. She currently runs logistics for the Crossville Danceline and Crossville Color Guard.

Visual/Brass Tech

Peyton Knop is a graduate of Crossville, Class of 2014. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Sports Management and Mathematical Statistics and a Master's Degree in Human Performance/Sports Management from the University of Alabama. Peyton helps the band as a Brass Technician and a Visual Technician.

Woodwind/Visual Tech

Moricea Knop is a Graduate of Crossville, Class of 2018. She is the sister of Peyton Knop. Moricea is currently working on her Degree in Chemistry from the University of Alabama Birmingham. Moricea helps the band as a Woodwind Technician and a Visual Technician.
