At Defrasoft ("We", "our", or "us"), We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how We collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application IPTV: Smart Stream & Live and related services (collectively, the "Service").
This Privacy Policy is crafted to ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations, including but not limited to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). We understand the importance of privacy and strive to be transparent about our practices. This Policy is designed to help you understand what data We collect, why We collect it, how it is used, and the choices you have regarding your information.
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Policy, please do not access or use the Service.
This Privacy Policy applies to all users of our app, whether you access it via Android, iOS, or other platforms.
Important. The Application is a media player and playlist manager. It does not provide, host, distribute, or index any TV channel, movie, series, or other media content. You must supply your own playlist URLs or files and ensure you have the right to access that content. Your playlists, favourites, and playback history are stored on your device and are not uploaded to Us.
For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, the following terms shall have the following meanings:
"Application" refers to the mobile application IPTV: Smart Stream & Live, provided by the Company and downloaded by users on any device.
"Company" (referred to as either "the Company", "We", "Us" or "Our" in this Policy) refers to Defrasoft, which owns and operates the Application.
"Account" means a unique account created for a user to access our Service or parts of our Service. The Application does not require an Account; where this Policy refers to an Account, it means the Google Play account used to purchase or restore a Premium entitlement.
"Personal Data" means any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual, including but not limited to name, email, device ID, advertising identifier, IP address, or usage data.
"Usage Data" refers to data collected automatically, either generated by the use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure itself (e.g., the duration of a session or the number of times a screen is opened).
"Cookies" are small files placed on Your device (computer or mobile device) by a website, containing details of Your browsing history on that website among its many uses.
"Device" means any device that can access the Service such as a smartphone, tablet, or computer.
"Playlist" means an M3U, M3U8, or comparable playlist file or URL that You add to the Application, together with the channel entries, titles, and stream links it contains.
"Stream Source" means the third-party server, provider, or host that a Playlist points to and from which media is delivered to Your Device.
"Local Data" refers to data that is created and stored only on Your Device and is not transmitted to Us, including Playlists, Playlist credentials, favourites, recently played items, playback position, and app settings.
"Premium Features" are additional functionalities that Users can access after purchasing a paid plan through Google Play, including removal of advertising from the Application.
"Service" refers to the Application and any related services provided by the Company, including playlist import and management, channel browsing and search, favourites, and media playback.
"Service Provider" means any natural or legal person who processes the data on behalf of the Company. This includes third-party companies or individuals employed to facilitate the Service, to provide the Service on behalf of the Company, to perform services related to the Service, or to assist the Company in analyzing how the Service is used.
"You" means the individual accessing or using the Service, or the legal entity on behalf of which such individual is acting.
We may collect and process the following types of information when you use the Application or visit our website:
Personal Information:
The Application does not require you to register, sign in, provide an email address, or create a profile. We collect personal information only where you voluntarily provide it to us — for example when you contact support, send feedback, report a problem, or exercise a data protection right. This may include your name, email address, and the contents of your message.
Playlist and Stream Source Data:
Playlists that you import — whether by URL or by selecting a file on your Device — are stored on your Device only. This includes the playlist address, any username, password, or access token embedded in that address, the channel entries it contains, and any favourites, recently played items, or playback positions derived from it. We do not upload, transmit, back up, index, or read your Playlists or Playlist credentials. When you play a channel, your Device connects directly to the Stream Source; that connection does not pass through our servers.
Device and Usage Information:
Information about the device you use and how you use the Application, such as device model, operating system version, app version, language settings, coarse region derived from IP address, access times, screen resolution, and network type.
App Activity and Performance Data:
Information related to your interactions with the Application, including features accessed, screens opened, frequency and duration of use, playback start and stop events at an aggregate level, and crash, error, and diagnostic data. This is used to keep the Application stable and to understand which features are used.
Advertising Data and Device Identifiers:
The free version of the Application shows advertising supplied by Google AdMob and its partners. Depending on your consent choices, advertising partners may process your advertising identifier (Google Advertising ID), IP address, coarse location, device information, and ad interaction events such as impressions and clicks. These identifiers are used for ad delivery, frequency capping, measurement, and fraud prevention.
Purchase Data:
Purchases of Premium Features are processed by Google Play. We receive a purchase token and entitlement status so that we can verify, restore, and honour your purchase. We do not receive or store your full payment-card details.
Log Files and Cookies:
Like many apps and websites, We and our Service Providers may use log files and similar technologies to collect standard internet log information and aggregated user behaviour information for analytics, security, and abuse prevention.
Sensitive Information:
"Sensitive Information" refers to categories of Personal Data that are considered highly private and require special protection under applicable data protection laws — such as health data, precise location, biometric information, financial data or government-issued identifiers, and information related to children. The Application does not request, collect, or process Sensitive Information. The Application does not request precise device location, and does not use the camera, microphone, contacts, or call logs.
We use the information We collect in the following ways:
To provide, operate, and maintain our Application: We use the data to ensure that the App functions properly and is available for You to use, including loading and parsing the Playlists you add, rendering channel lists, and running the media player.
To manage entitlements: to verify and restore Premium purchases made through Google Play, to remove advertising for Premium users, and to prevent use of refunded, reversed, or fraudulent entitlements.
To improve, personalize, and expand our services: We analyze how You interact with the App and may use that data to make improvements or introduce new features based on Your preferences.
To understand and analyze how You use our Application: This helps Us gain insights into usage patterns, diagnose playback and compatibility problems, and optimize the user experience.
To communicate with You: This includes responding to support requests and feedback, and notifying You of updates or new features where You have asked to receive them.
To prevent fraud and ensure security: We take the necessary steps to protect the integrity of the Application and its services by identifying and preventing fraudulent activities, including invalid advertising traffic.
For advertising purposes: We use advertising identifiers and ad interaction data, subject to Your consent choices, to serve and measure advertising inside the Application. We do not use the contents of Your Playlists, the channels You watch, or Your Stream Sources for advertising, profiling, or targeting.
To comply with legal obligations: We may use and disclose Your information as necessary to comply with applicable laws, regulations, or legal processes, and to respond to valid requests from public authorities.
To manage Your requests: To attend and manage Your requests to Us.
For business transfers: We may use Your information to evaluate or conduct a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of Our assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, in which Personal Data held by Us about our Service users is among the assets transferred.
For other purposes: We may use Your information for other purposes, such as data analysis, identifying usage trends, determining the effectiveness of our promotional campaigns and to evaluate and improve our Service, products, services, marketing and your experience.
We only collect the data necessary for the purposes outlined above. We do not collect excessive or unnecessary information and take steps to ensure that the data we collect is relevant and proportionate to the services provided.
We may share Your personal information in the following situations:
With Service Providers: We may share Your personal information with Service Providers to deliver and measure advertising, monitor and analyze the use of our Service, collect crash reports, and to contact You. Our principal Service Providers in this category are Google (AdMob, Google Play services, and analytics and crash reporting tools).
For business transfers: We may share or transfer Your personal information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of Company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of Our business to another company.
With Affiliates: We may share Your information with Our affiliates, in which case we will require those affiliates to honor this Privacy Policy. Affiliates include Our parent company and any other subsidiaries, joint venture partners or other companies that We control or that are under common control with Us.
With business partners: We may share Your information with Our business partners to offer You certain products, services or promotions.
With Your consent: We may disclose Your personal information for any other purpose with Your consent.
We do not share Your Playlists, Playlist credentials, favourites, or viewing history with anyone, because We do not collect them.
We retain Your Personal Information only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use Your Information to the extent necessary to comply with Our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce Our agreements and policies.
Analytics, crash, and advertising records are retained for the period set by the relevant Service Provider and are then deleted or aggregated so that they no longer identify an individual user. Support correspondence is retained for as long as needed to resolve your request and for a reasonable period afterwards.
Local Data is not retained by Us at all. Playlists, Playlist credentials, favourites, recently played items, and settings exist only on Your Device, for as long as You keep them there.
We may retain Your Information for a longer period if required by law or to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected. Once the Information is no longer required, We will take reasonable steps to securely delete or anonymize the Data.
We take the protection of Your Personal Information seriously. We implement a variety of security measures to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Your Data. These measures include encryption in transit, secure servers, and access controls to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure.
Because Playlists and their embedded credentials remain on Your Device, their security depends primarily on the security of Your Device. We recommend that You use a device lock, keep the operating system updated, and avoid sharing playlist links that contain your provider username or password.
Please also note that the security of a media stream itself is controlled by the Stream Source, not by Us. If a Stream Source is delivered over an unencrypted connection, the traffic between Your Device and that source may be visible to Your network operator.
We also require third-party service providers who process Your Data on Our behalf to implement appropriate security measures to protect Your Information. However, the ultimate security of Your data also depends on the practices of these third parties.
The security of Your Personal Data is important to Us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While We strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect Your Personal Data, We cannot guarantee its absolute security.
As a User, You have certain rights regarding Your Personal Information under applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
a. Under the GDPR, You have the following rights:
Right to Access
You have the right to request copies of Your Personal Data. We may charge You a small fee for this service.
Right to Rectification
You have the right to request that We correct any information You believe is inaccurate or complete information You believe is incomplete.
Right to Erasure
You have the right to request that We erase Your Personal Data, under certain conditions.
Right to Restrict Processing
You have the right to request that We restrict the processing of Your Personal Data, under certain conditions.
Right to Object to Processing
You have the right to object to Our processing of Your Personal Data, under certain conditions.
Right to Data Portability
You have the right to request that We transfer the data We have collected to another organization, or directly to You, under certain conditions.
Right to Withdraw Consent
Where We rely on Your consent to process Your Personal Data, You have the right to withdraw Your consent at any time. Withdrawal of consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal. You can change or withdraw Your advertising consent at any time in the Application's settings.
b. Under the CCPA, California consumers have the following rights:
Right to Know
You have the right to request that We disclose the categories and specific pieces of Personal Data We have collected about You.
Right to Deletion
You have the right to request that We delete any Personal Data about You that We have collected, subject to certain exceptions.
Right to Opt-Out of Sale of Personal Data
You have the right to request that We do not sell Your Personal Data to third parties.
Right to Non-Discrimination
You have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment by Us for exercising Your rights under the CCPA.
c. How to Exercise Your Rights:
To exercise any of these rights, please contact Us using the contact details provided in the "Contact Us" section below. We will respond to Your request within the timeframes specified by applicable law, usually within one month for GDPR requests and 45 days for CCPA requests. If We need more time, We will notify You.
Because the Application does not require an Account, We may be unable to link a request to a specific individual without additional information, such as an advertising identifier or a Google Play order number. Where We cannot identify You in our records, We will tell You so and explain what data, if any, We hold.
You have the right to delete or request that We assist in deleting the Personal Data that We have collected about You.
Our Service gives You the ability to delete most information about You directly from within the Service. Because the Application stores Playlists, Playlist credentials, favourites, recently played items, and settings only on Your Device, You can delete them at any time by removing individual playlists in the Application, clearing the app's storage in Your device settings, or uninstalling the Application.
You can also reset or delete Your advertising identifier at any time through Your device settings, which prevents advertising partners from associating future activity with previous activity.
You may also contact Us to request access to, correct, or delete any personal information that You have provided to Us, such as support correspondence.
Please note, however, that We may need to retain certain information when we have a legal obligation or lawful basis to do so, for example records relating to a purchase or to fraud prevention.
We take the privacy of children seriously. The Application is a general-audience media player and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age as defined by applicable laws in Your jurisdiction). It is not distributed through Google Play's Designed for Families programme.
We do not knowingly collect or solicit Personal Information directly from children.
Because the Application plays content that You supply, We have no control over the nature of that content. Parents and legal guardians are responsible for supervising the Playlists added to the Application and the content accessed through them.
If We become aware that We have unintentionally collected Personal Information from a child without valid consent, We will promptly delete such information from Our systems.
If You are a parent or legal guardian and believe that Your child has provided Us with Personal Information without Your consent, please contact Us so that We can take the appropriate action.
Before using certain features of the Application that require access to personal data, You will be asked to grant permission. We will not collect or use any of this information without Your explicit consent.
The permissions the Application may request are:
Internet and network state. Required to load Playlists from a URL, connect to Stream Sources, deliver advertising, and check for updates.
Storage or media access. Requested only when You choose to import a Playlist file that is stored on Your Device, or to export or back up a Playlist. We access only the file You select.
Notification permission. Used to display playback controls while the player is running in the background, and to surface app messages where You have enabled them.
Advertising consent. Where required by law, You will be shown a consent screen before personalised advertising is served, and You can change or withdraw that choice at any time in the Application's settings.
The Application does not request precise location, camera, microphone, contacts, call logs, or SMS permissions.
By granting permission, You consent to the collection and use of Your Personal Data for the specific purpose related to the feature You are using. If You do not grant permission, some features of the Application may not function as intended.
You will be notified of any additional permissions that may be required by the Application and will have the option to grant or deny such permissions. You can change or withdraw Your consent at any time through Your device settings.
We are committed to not collecting, using, or sharing Your Personal Information without Your explicit consent.
By using the Application and providing Us with Your Personal Information, You understand and agree that Your Data may be transferred to, processed, and stored in countries other than the country in which You are located. These countries may have different data protection laws than those of Your country.
If Your Personal Information is transferred outside of Your country, We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect Your Data, in compliance with applicable data protection laws. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring that any third-party service providers We use are compliant with data protection standards that are consistent with the privacy rights guaranteed to You under applicable laws.
Please note separately that when You play a channel, Your Device connects directly to a Stream Source that may be located in any country and is operated by a third party outside our control. That connection is governed by the Stream Source operator's own practices, not by this Policy.
By using the Application, You consent to the transfer of Your Personal Information to these countries and to the processing and storage of Your Data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
In accordance with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), residents of California have the right to request that we do not sell their personal information. If You are a California resident, You may exercise this right by submitting a request to Us.
If We sell or share Your personal information with third parties, You will have the option to request that We do not sell Your information. Under the CCPA, the sharing of advertising identifiers with advertising partners for personalised advertising may be treated as a "sale" or "share" of personal information.
To make such a request, You can contact Us directly by using the details provided in the "14. Contact Us" section below, or change Your advertising consent choices in the Application's settings. We will respond to your request within the timeframes specified by applicable law, usually within 45 days. If we require more time, we will notify you.
Please note:
We do not sell personal information without your consent.
If you choose to opt-out of the sale of your personal information, this will not affect your access to or use of our services. You may continue to see advertising, but it will not be personalised.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights under the CCPA.
The Application is a player and playlist manager. Its core purpose is to play media that You supply from Stream Sources operated by third parties. We do not provide, host, distribute, index, curate, or verify any channel, movie, series, or other media content. Users must supply their own Playlist URLs or files and are responsible for ensuring that they have the right to access that content.
When You add a Playlist or play a channel, You are dealing directly with the Stream Source operator. Your use of that source is subject to that operator's own privacy policy, terms, and practices. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, practices, availability, or legality of any third-party site, service, or Stream Source.
The Application may also contain links to other websites that are not operated by Us, for example in advertising or support pages. If You click on a third party link, You will be directed to that third party's site. We strongly advise You to review the Privacy Policy of every site You visit.
If You believe that content accessible through a Playlist infringes Your rights, please contact the Stream Source operator or hosting provider directly, since We do not host, control, or have the ability to remove that content.
We reserve the right to modify or update this Privacy Policy at any time. Any changes to this Privacy Policy will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage You to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how We are protecting Your Personal Information. Your continued use of the Application after any changes to this Privacy Policy will be considered Your acceptance of those changes.
If the changes materially affect Your rights or the way Your personal information is processed, We will make reasonable efforts to notify You in advance through the Application or by other means.
