Young Fives Schedule

8:30-9:00:  Students arrive, unpack folders, lunch money, snacks and lunch boxes.  Students put their name on white board under packing/buying/milk.  Teacher takes attendance.  

9:00-9:05:  Morning announcements, pledge, prayer.  Courier takes attendance slip and important papers to the office.

9:05-9:25:  Busy Bin Activities-Students get individual busy bins and bring back to the table and work independently until time to clean up.

9:30-9:45:  Morning Meeting-greeting, calendar, weather, question of the day, estimation jar, songs, and sharing time.

9:45-10:00:  Religion

10:00-10:25:  Restroom/Recess

10:30-11:00:  Morning Work (letter recognition, math, etc.)

11:00-11:20:  Story Time-Music and Movement

11:20-11:30:  Restroom

11:30-12:00:  Lunch in Cafeteria

12:00-12:10:  Restroom

12:15-1:00:  Quiet Time (students may whisper and look at books.

1:00-1:10:  Restroom

1:10-1:30:  Craft/Thematic activity

1:30-2:00:  Learning Centers (free choice of block, art, science, language, manipulative, and dramatic play centers)

2:00-2:10:  Restroom

2:10-2:25:  Snack/pack up

2:25-2:50:  Recess

2:50-3:10:  Closing activity

3:10:  Dismissal
