Mr. Jones received a B.S in Music Education and American History from Ball State University. He went on to get a Master of Music Education degree from Eastern Kentucky University. Mr. Jones taught music for eleven years at schools in Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio. He was then employed by Mynett Music in Fort Wayne,IN as Senior Music Education Manager and served in that position for 33 years before retiring in July of 2020. Mr. Jones is an active performer and adjudicator. He is a freelance trombonist and also currently holds the position of Principal baritone in the Old Crown Brass Band of Fort Wayne. Dave Jones is active in the brass band movement serving on the Board of Directors of the North American Brass band Association (NABBA) and is President of the Old Crown Brass Band. In addition, he retired from directing the church choir over 20 years in his home parish in Antwerp, OH.

David is married to his musical mate Sally, who plays the french horn and is keyboardist at Divine Mercy Parish. They have two grown sons, Matthew, a market specialist and Andrew a social studies teacher at Bishop Dwenger HS in Fort Wayne. They both live in Fort Wayne.

To sharpen his saw Mr. Jones enjoys playing golf, doing word games (especially Scrabble) and is a huge Notre Dame football fan.
