Defense of Democracy Civic Action advocates for a public school and library systems that provides robust, inclusive learning environments for all students, and lobbies for policies to restore and strengthen the pro-democracy role of public education in communities across the country. Through 58 chapters around the country, we’ve mobilized more than 6,000 volunteers and over 100,000 social media followers to fight back to protect public schools and libraries from attacks like book bans and educator intimidation.
