All About Miss Downing

Welcome! I'm Miss Downing, the first-grade teacher at Dedham School. I love creating a warm, welcoming classroom where every child feels valued, supported, and excited to learn. Building strong relationships with students and their families is one of my favorite parts of teaching, and I believe those connections help every child grow both academically and personally.

I feel incredibly lucky to be part of the Dedham School community and can't wait for another year filled with learning, laughter, and unforgettable memories!

This is my family- the people who have supported me every step of the way.  I love spending time with them- going on hikes, having a game night, taking girls' trips with my mom, or spending beach days back on Cape Cod where we're originally from. Life is better with them around ♡

These are my pups- my constant sources of joy and happiness. Our home is like a mini farm, with ducks, chickens, a pig, a tank full of fish, and even a bearded dragon. Never a dull moment in this household!
