Welcome to Greenlodge News! Greenlodge News is a weekly video that is written, filmed, and produced by fifth grade students. 5th grade students have the opportunity to participate a few times throughout the year, rotating through small groups of all students interested. It all happens during the school day, during morning work and recess time. Each week when students participate, they will choose news stories, interview students or staff or research their news topic, write a short report to share on camera, film their peers sharing their news stories with a green screen, and put the video and background images together to create the final video. During this process, students will practice the research and writing skills learned in the classroom and will learn interviewing and filming skills. Students will also develop their teamwork skills as well as build up their confidence with public speaking as a role model for the school community.
