Subscription Databases
Databases are online collections of information. They might:
contain articles like you’d find in a reference book, but that have never been in print.
contain articles republished from print reference books — for example, the Britannica databases.
be e-books, which are entire print reference books in electronic format — for example, the Gale Virtual Reference Library.
contain articles republished from periodicals (magazines and newspapers) — for example, The New York Times.
contain a mix of any of the above!
Be careful to note the original source of any information you find in a database. Usually you can find this at the top of the article.
