Avery Elementary School

Sheila Bennett is a registered nurse and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Emmanuel College and a Master's degree in Leadership/ School Nursing from Eastern Mennonite University. Sheila began her nursing career in neonatal nursing in Colorado, moving to OB/Gyn at Framingham Union Hospital, and worked on Labor and Delivery at Brigham and Women's Hospital. She became interested in School Nursing while assisting at one of the elementary schools, eventually taking on the school nurse role at the Avery School in 2001. Having lived most of her life in Dedham, she is committed to supporting the health of the community. When not working, Sheila enjoys working out, sewing, and reading. With her three children grown now, Sheila lives at home with her two dogs, Kimmy and Ziggy.
