Welcome to Earth and Space Science for 6th graders at St. Jane DeChantal. This year, we will be covering a variety of topics including Earth’s structure, geological changes, weather and climate, our water supply, and the universe. Below you will find info on class expectations, grading breakdown, and classroom essentials.
Come prepared to learn. This class will move at a steady pace, and it is important not to fall behind.
Class time will be dedicated to going over homework, learning new material, and assessing material learned.
I LOVE open discussions. Please speak up and ask questions. Everybody learns this way and it challenges us to think deeper.
Tests- 30%- 1 test per chapter
Quizzes- 20%- 1-2 quizzes per chapter
Homework-20%- 3 homework assignments per chapter
Participation-20%- engagement during class (i.e. pay attention, take notes, ask questions, etc.)
Labs- 10%- We will be working in tandem with Mrs. Ramsayer in our STEM lab!
No Extra Credit at this time...
A notebook with loose-leaf paper (composition or ringed) in order to take notes and complete homework.
A three ringed binder or a folder to hold onto papers
Textbooks and Chromebooks are provided
