As you prepare to relaunch Reading & Writing workshop after the holidays, keep these tips in mind.

Workshop teaching hinges on routines and predictable structures. Increased volume and stamina are the bedrock of a strong workshop classroom.
Protecting students' independent work time ⏱ should be our highest priority. Research says kids need to read 90 minutes a day in school!
Well-thought out partnerships are critical in workshop classrooms.
VOICE & CHOICE are foundational to a high-functioning workshop. If you, as the teacher, are regularly the "picker of the text", workshop isn't working.
