Exemption Overview
ALL STUDENTS MUST NOTE THAT THERE ARE 2 SEPARATE PROCEDURES FOR STUDENTS WHO NEED EXEMPTIONS PROCESSED.
A course exemption is an official waiver that allows a student to skip a required course if they can prove they already have the knowledge or skills covered in that course.
Interesting Aspects of Student Exemptions
With Credit (EC): If you’ve already completed an equivalent course elsewhere, you may be granted full credit. This means you don’t need to retake the course or replace it.
Without Credit (EX): You’re excused from the course, but you don’t earn credits for it. To graduate, you must take another course at the same level or higher.
Resources
Help students and parents help themselves by making resources easily accessible.
Flexibility: Students can submit their requests whenever they meet the eligibility criteria, rather than waiting for a designated period.
Convenience: This ensures that learners who transfer, return from leave, or complete prerequisite requirements late in the year still have the opportunity to apply.
Administrative Note: While the exemption is available year‑round, approval may still depend on documentation, departmental review, and institutional policies.
