Oregon's Extended Assessments are alternate assessments designed specifically for students with the most significant cognitive disabilities.

Case Managers are responsible for administering OrExt and ALT ELPA tests to students identified to take alternative assessments via IEP/504 plan.
If a student is identified as having significant cognitive disabilities and they are to take Alternate Assessments, regular OSAS Summative should not be administered.

The Alternate English Language Proficiency Assessment (Alt-ELPA) measures the English proficiency of eligible English learners with significant cognitive disabilities.
ALT-ELPA guidance and training materials are linked below.
Case Managers / Homeroom teachers are responsible for administering ALT ELPA tests to identified students with the assistance of another trained staff member (for scoring).
If a student is identified as having significant cognitive disabilities and they are to take Alternate Assessments, regular ELPA should not be administered.
