Before you plan out your prototype, double check the following:
1. Make sure the problem you are trying to solve is a common problem.
2. Make sure your idea has not already been invented.
3. Make sure your idea is possible to build
4. Make sure you have the materials you will need to build it.
The Importance of Design
Designing your prototype involves many stages. It is important to be willing to go back to the drawing board many times before coming up with your finished prototype.

Design Stage
Start by planning your prototype by drawing your design ideas on a piece of paper. Keep all of your design drawings with your Inventor's Notebook as you will need them later!
Want to Design on the Computer?
