Is this invention something that people really need or will really want? Will people actually buy this invention?
Is It Possible?
Is it even possible to make your invention? Do you have the right materials? Do you have the time? Would it cost anything to make?
Will It Work?
Will your invention actually work? When we think about the materials that we can use to make it, will it actually do its job?
Are You The First To Invent It?
There are official ways to make sure that your invention wasn't already thought of, but for the purposes of this project, ask a teacher or an adult to help you do a Google search for ideas similar to yours.
Is It Simple?
Finally, make sure your invention idea is simple. You want to be able to make it all by yourself and you want it to work. So, think through your idea carefully. Can you do it?
Is It Time To Go Back To The Drawing Board?
If you answered, "NO" to any of the above questions, then it's time to go back to the drawing board. Choose another problem to try solving and then answer the questions again. All good inventors go back to the drawing board again and again.
