Mr. Jeffery Leech

B.F.A. Fine Arts, York University, B. Ed., Nippissing University, Honours Specialist Visual Art, University of Toronto.

Mr. Leech began exhibiting his own paintings and drawings in commercial galleries begining in the summer of 2002. He has participated in several group shows and juried exhibitions. His most recent work has been commissioned portraits for individual clients.

Mr. Leech began his teaching career in the fall of 2000 at Dunbarton High School in Pickering. There he joined a thriving Visual Arts Department and soon helped to establish a Media Arts curriculum for grades 10 - 12.  He was the teacher/advisor to the Student Art Council, created an after school program where students created mural paintings for sites around the school, worked with students to create set pieces and prop design for important Drama productions and helped to organize and curate student art exhibitions in the school.

Mr. Leech was thrilled to be hired on to help open Maxwell Heights S.S. in 2009. Mr. Leech was determined to establish Maxwell as a centre for Arts and Culture in North Oshawa.  The Maxwell Mural Project is in full swing and our students' achievments are being celebrated in semester end art exhibitions twice a year.  Our graduating students have developed strong portfolios which are essential for contniued study in the Visual Arts, we are so proud of them.
