In this unit, students look at our rights and freedoms.
In their examination, students will note that human rights laws in Canada are held above other laws, and courts must weigh them against any legislation. Students will identify specific pieces of human rights legislation, and look at landmark cases that had to weigh that legislation against new and existing laws.
