'Dun' is an Ultimaker Go2 and was our first 3D printer.
The 3D printer doesnt need to be connected to a PC and the software needed is available in Virtual Apps or online.
3D printers should be placed in a space which is secure and can be locked when not being supervised. Schools are required to complete their own risk assessment however the Digital Learning Team will provide support and training prior to the loan of the printer as part of your project.
All resources for printing are provided but should schools provide their own USB Card reader and a PAT tested extention cord is advisable. If a school wishes to have a specific colour of ink they can purchase filament (ink) which may be specific to their needs via Civica. at a cost of approx £30.
We ask that any school which finish a reel of ink or Blue Scotch Tape which is initially provided replace it.
