The DCU Institute of Education is a faculty of Dublin City University and is based in DCU St Patrick’s Campus, Drumcondra. The Institute brings together students of education across all sectors from early childhood, to primary and post-primary, and further and higher education. As well as providing a range of undergraduate programmes in education, the Institute offers a rich menu of taught and research-based postgraduate programmes, at doctoral, masters, diploma and certificate levels. As a centre of expertise and excellence in teacher education and education more generally, the Institute hosts a range of research centres in key areas of priority and has an ambitious and growing programme of research.
The Professional Learning Research and Practice Assembly will take place on Friday, 5th June and Saturday, 6th June, 2026 in the E Block of DCU St Patrick’s Campus, Drumcondra Road Upper, Dublin 9. It is important to note that this is the venue, and not the main DCU Glasnevin Campus on Collins Avenue. Take some time to browse the St Patrick’s Campus map.
The Eircode for the Main Reception on St Patrick’s Campus is D09 YT18. Searching for this on Google Maps will take you directly to the building where the meeting rooms are located.
Car parking
Car parking is available free of charge on the St Patrick’s Campus; it is not possible to leave your car there overnight. The car park beside Block E/F/G is the best one to leave your car. Consult the campus map to pinpoint the location.
Bus
St Patrick’s Campus is well served by public transport. Bus stop 7602, going northbound, is right outside the campus entrance. Bus stop 7603, going southbound, is just across the road from the campus entrance. Bus tickets can be purchased on board with coins (€2-€2.60) or you can purchase a Leap travel card from your nearest agent. Train
Drumcondra Train Station is currently the closest train station to DCU St. Patrick’s Campus, being approximately a 10 to 15 minute walk north along the Drumcondra Road.
There are now direct train connections to Drumcondra from both Dublin Connolly and Dublin Heuston train stations. Direct Commuter Routes via Drumcondra include:

Airport
Dublin Airport is located 10 km north of Dublin city and approximately 5 km north of DCU. The airport is serviced by many transport links from Dublin which have routes that pass by the DCU St Patrick's campus.
Public Transport – 30 mins (Bus number 16, 41, 33) - for the most up to date information on the available routes and times use the TFI Journey Planner and TFI Live App.
The Aircoach is another option – it is a coach service which runs from the city centre to the airport. For more information visit Aircoach.
A taxi journey to DCU St Patrick's Campus from Dublin airport should take 20-25 minutes and taxi pick up apps such as Free Now or Uber are available.
