A PLACE TO BECOME A FUTURE HEALTH PROFESSIONAL
Ms. Wuertz, RN
There is proven stability and many possibilities in the health science industry. Job outlook is steadily climbing with the impending influx of baby boomer patients.
Students that have a desire to care for needs of our community can find great opportunities through the Health Science program at Creek Wood. Whether you want to be a vet, doctor, nurse, physical therapist, dentist, paramedic, respiratory therapist, occupational therapist, or any of the hundreds of medical career choices, we can provide you with a firm foundation to your future.
We offer Clinical Medical Assistant certification through the Clinical Internship capstone course. Medical Assisting is moderately difficult with a national average pass rate of 58%. Last semester, we had a 100% PASS RATE. Odds are in your favor you can become a medical professional before you graduate high school.
It is our desire to prepare our students for an exciting career in the medical field.
International HOSA Competitors
HOSA International Leadership Conference was a great experience this year. We traveled all the way to Houston, Texas! Robert Pentecost competed among the best in the nation. We look forward to the next ILC in Nashville, Tennessee in June 2025.
About me
I have 27 years nursing experience specializing in cardiac critical care and leadership. I have been teaching Health Science classes at Creek Wood High School since 2010 and am an adjunct clinical instructor for the TCAT LPN program.
I have 3 adult children and 3 pets- Tilly, an energetic rescue pup, Scamp, my old grouchy terrier, and Wubbs, my son's sweet cat. I enjoy camping and learning to do new things.
I'm very excited about this year because we have more ability to help students gain an advantage than we ever have before. Through our new Sim Lab for medication administration, patient care simulation lab, and the Anatomage anatomy table students will have new technology available at their fingertips used in top medical training facilities. I'm anticipating a great learning year!
