Dickson County
Student Supports
(Supports outside of Academics to create success)

Systems of Supports offers a powerful, evidence-based approach for meeting the behavioral and social needs of students in Tennessee schools. The purpose of tired system of supports is to empower educators to equip all students with the opportunity to meet high expectations regarding behavior and the support to reach every student. Also, students, families, and educators can work together to develop and contribute to a shared vision for student success.

Dickson County Schools use the positive response model (focusing on the whole child) with a goal to create productive, relational citizens for post graduation. Dickson County Schools will accomplish this goal by focusing on restorative practice mind frames, and providing supports through multiple facets to our students, teachers, administration, and families.

Dickson County Behavioral Team

Dickson County Schools Behavioral Team is composed of certified BCBAs, RBTs, Special Education, and General Education staff members. This wide range of viewpoints is valuable to making the best decisions for all students. Behavioral Consultants work directly with students and staff to develop Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans. Our team works hard to support students, teachers, administrators, and families in having the tools needed to decrease negative behaviors and increase overall positive student behaviors. The team also helps to promote positive school wide behavioral systems for our schools to be successful each day. As a district, our vision is to support the whole child. This approach will provide schools with processes and strategies on addressing students through a tiered system of supports to create success for all.
