Before School Program

Mission

The mission of the Douglas County School System Before School Program (BSP) is to provide a safe, relaxed, and enjoyable environment for its students. The BSP provides enrichment activities, social interaction with peers, and homework help in a well-supervised, structured setting. The Fee-Based Before School Program sponsored by the Douglas County School System is designed to provide adult supervision, in a group setting, to students whose parents work outside the home after school hours. Programs typically open the first day of school.

Before ScHool Hours

The BSP is open from 7:00 a.m. -9:00 a.m. Monday through Friday. The following middle schools are offering a Before School Program at the following times:

Discipline Procedures

The Before School Program follows the discipline policies of the Douglas County School System. Each school will establish specific discipline guidelines at its school site. Depending on the offense, students may be temporarily or permanently removed from the BSP.

Schedule of Activities

Students will receive breakfast each day before heading to class.

Students may work on daily assignments, assigned homework, and other projects during that time

Need Assistance?

As funds are available, partial scholarships for the BSP/ASP may be available to students based on need.

All families must pay the $10.00 registration fee regardless of financial status.

State assistance is accepted, the parent must notify the state of a facility change, provide the updated certification, and present it to the school.

Please contact the school for any additional questions.

Supporting All Students

Eligible students with disabilities who enroll in the Before School Program will be provided reasonable accommodations and/or modifications to afford them meaningful access to the program. Accommodations are considered reasonable where the provision of them would not result in a fundamental alteration of the program or the services offered by the program or create an undue financial or administrative burden. The Before School Program does not provide educational services to students and is not intended to be an educational program.
