Digital Learning Tips

Invest in a Headset

Using a headset will help your child focus on the learning session and not other things going on around them. Additionally, it will cut down on background noise and unintentional interruptions.

Set Up a Designated Learning Area

Dedicate a specific workspace for your child to engage in live sessions and complete individual work. Choose an area that is comfortable and free of clutter.

Keep a Daily Routine

Schedule a wake up time that allows your child to get dressed and have breakfast as they would to come to school in person. Doing so prepares the mind for engaging in learning.

Set a side time to review and study. Engaging with the content of the lesson multiple times increases the likeliness of remembering the information long term.

Make sure that your child gets the appropriate amount of sleep. Click here to learn more.

Age Band               Recommended Hours of Sleep Per Day

3–5 years              10–13 hours per 24 hours (including naps)2

6–12 years            9–12 hours per 24 hours2

13–18 years          8–10 hours per 24 hours2

Improve Your Internet Connection

Disconnect any devices not being used during the live learning sessions. (Streaming devices, cell phones, printers, tablets, etc... Anything that is connected to the WiFi reduces the internet speed even if it is not in use.

Make sure that the designated learning station is in a close range to the internet router/hotspot.
