Dr Ira Jacobs

Greetings,

My name is Dr Ira Jacobs, and I am the 6th Grade ELA Teacher at Jacquelyn Y. Kelley Discovery Charter School. Iam excited to welcome you to the 2025-2026 school year! I look forward to having your child in my class as we explore the novels and learning experience of our Wit & Wisdom ELA Curriculum. In our classroom, reading, writing, speaking, an listening come to life through creativity and expression. I enjoy incorporating the arts- such as poetry, drama, music, visual art, and storytelling- into ELA instruction to help students connect more deeply with the material, These creative  approaches allow students to build confidence, strengthen comprehension, and express their ideas in meaningful ways. 

We will engage in fun, hands-on learning activities that promote critical thinking, collaboration, and a love for reading and writing, My goal is to create  a supportive and inspiring learning environment where every scholar feels valued, encouraged, and empowered to grow.
