Hello, I am Ms. Meekins & I am an alumna of Cheyney University with a strong family legacy in education that spans generations, from my great-grandmother to my mother. With my three years of experience working with children, I am deeply passionate about fostering curiosity and growth in young learners. I take pride in creating supportive, engaging environments where students can thrive and experience those pivotal “light bulb” moments of discovery. Beyond my dedication to education, I enjoy cooking, painting, and practicing Pilates, which reflect in my creativity and commitment to balance in my life. 

Hi! I am Ms. Fattrosso. I am an alumni of Drexel University and a Graduate Student at Boston College pursuing a Masters Degree in Educational Policy. I am passionate about arts integrated education and incorporating hands on learning in the classroom. Every student learns differently and is capable of great things! I hope to provide an educational, safe, and welcoming environment where every student matters! Outside of teaching, I enjoy taking long walks with my great pyrenees, practicing different art mediums, and watching documentaries. I am looking forward to getting to know each student and their families this year!

Hello JYK family old and new

My name is Ms. Bowers and I am the teacher for class 203! This is my 4th year teaching at Discovery and I am soooo excited to connect with you and your family.  I have an older son who attended Discovery from Kindergarten to 8th grade many many moons ago and a daughter that currently attends, needless to say Discovery is home for me.  Before beginning my career in education,  I was a social worker for 20 years.  I have a passion for helping children in a number of capacities.   This is going to be an awesome year of adventure and learning!
