Hello, Antlers!

Welcome to the Deer Creek Middle School Library!

During the Covid-19 pandemic, students may need to access books from home. Check out these resources!

Sora Reading App -

  • We have a collection of digital books and audiobooks that you can access by downloading the Sora app or going to https://soraapp.com. Sign in with your school email address and password and you'll be able to check out books from our collection OR the public library's collection! No library card needed!

  • See the Google Slideshow below to find out how to log in!

Introduction to Sora

Metropolitan Public Library System -

  • Offering free library cards while you’re stuck at home! All DCMS students qualify for a library card regardless of their address. Go here to apply for a card: Sign up for a library card

  • If you have any trouble getting a card, let Mrs. Denney know. (email jenniferdenney@dcsok.org)

  • Access to all the public library’s links to digital books and audiobooks as well as online book clubs: Public Library Digital Books and Audiobooks

  • Recommended apps for use with your library card: OverDrive, Libby, and Hoopla - sign in with your library card number to access ebooks, audiobooks, and graphic novels

  • You can also use the library’s free Wifi if you’re in their parking lot.

Public Domain -

  • Books that were published years ago and have entered the public domain are available at the Project Gutenberg website. Here’s the link to the children’s literature shelf: Public Domain

  • Use this link if you’re interested in reading classics of literature. Most are available as ebooks, audiobooks, ePub or Kindle downloads.

Other Deer Creek e-Books -

  • As a district, we have 505 other ebooks outside of the Sora app. They can be accessed here: Follett Shelf

  • At this time, our district’s e-books are only set up to be viewed online with one use at a time. You can use the guest login (username deercreek, password antlers) but you won’t be able to check out the books.

Audible Stories -

  • During the school closures, Audible has opened up their “Stories” for free. Access them here: Audible Website

  • 7TH GRADERS - If you ordered Red Kayak and did not receive it due to the school shutdown, you will be able to pick it up once the school re-opens in August, or you can make arrangements to pick it up this summer by emailing kristyvandorn@dcsok.org.

  • Check out the Readers of the Month page for more info on our monthly winners!

  • The library collects Box Tops for Education and Coca Cola caps all year. We call it our Cash for Trash fundraiser because we award students with Sonic gift cards for participating! Send all box tops and caps to the library all year.

  • Our 2020 library awards were presented digitally due to the school closure. See the "library awards" page for more information on how you can participate!
