Welcome to 3rd grade, I am so excited for this school year.  Here is a little bit about me...

I was born and raised in Agoura Hills, Ca. and moved to Colorado with my husband almost 26 years ago.  My whole family soon followed and so my parents, my sisters and brother live in Colorado with their families.  I got my B.A. from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and my teaching license from Cal Lutheran University.  I have taught kindergarten 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade and had been a substitute teacher for 8 years at Heritage.  This is my 14th year in education.  I have 2 daughters, Reagan (22) and Kendall (20).  Reagan graduated from Ole Miss last year and is working in Nashville.  Kendall is studying to be a teacher at KU.  We also have a very spoiled white golden retriever named Harper.  My girls and I love Disneyland and DisneyWorld (my husband, Lee, says he put his time in with Disney and now is done).  I am a strong believer in open communication between not just me and my students but with parents so please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.  It is going to be a great year in 3rd grade, I can't wait!  My email is tjohnston@dcsdk12.org.
