6th Grade
6th Graders at the end the school year create some fun StopMotion Videos. Students use an iPad App called StopMotion Animation to create their videos. They are asked to use their creativity and collaboration skills for this project. It is so fun to watch the production and final product for these videos. Below are a couple of videos that were created.

Logo Designs
Grades 1st - 6th participate in our Specials Expedition. For the tech portion of the performance, students created Logos to represent their group. All students created a design they felt would best represent their group. They then needed to pitch their design to their group and explain why it represented the group. The group then takes all the information and selected one logo to represent the group. I have shared below a few of the designs that were created this school year. Some amazing creative designs!
3rd Grade
3rd Grade explored the Google Earth tool. We looked at a satellite view of the North America continent and worked our way down to a view of Fox Creek Elementary. Thinking geographically using this tool to show a satellite view of the North America continent down to a bird's eye view of Fox Creek Elementary. We then learned how to take a screenshot of the view on our Chromebook and move that image into a google presentation. We read the book: Me on the Map by Joan Sweeney to show how we fit onto the world map.
The student slideshows consist of seven different image views in the slides. If we had time we worked on changing the type of font and the color in title for each slide.
1st Grade
1st Grade worked very hard creating their Press Here books. We used the book Press Here by Herve Tullet as our mentor text. Students worked hard to create a storyboard for their story, then went to work on creating the book using Google Slides.
After reading the book whole group, and discussing the layout and wording, we created our own storyboard. Next we worked on using the Google Presentation tool to create our story. This project is designed to introduce a couple of technology skills: a text box, typing, shapes, copying and pasting, changing colors and sizes of their shapes.
6th Grade
6th Grade used the food cans from the whole school Different Kind of a Can Drive to design and build a structure. Students were asked to collaborate in groups of 4-5 to plan and build their final structures in the school Galleria. The 766 food cans collected by the whole school were then donated to the Backpack Society food bank before Thanksgiving to support families in our own community. Below are a few of the designs created this school year.
4th Grade
4th Grade has been working on creating an Ozobot Travel Story. In groups of 4-5 students they worked to program the Ozobot robot to travel around a driving map of the United States. This lesson ask students to collaborate with their group to find a location on the map and then code the robot for the journey. The groups worked hard using computational thinking to identify and solve problems in their code.
Kindergarten
Kindergarten is becoming quite proficient at using the trackpad on the Chromebook instead of the touch screen. We have been working on some Digital Citizenship lessons on how to "Travel safely on a computer/device" as well as How to respectfully get off of technology when asked.
The students were asked to create a drawing and recording on the topics using the SeeSaw tool. Here are a couple of examples.
