We have some amazing things planned for the 23/24 school year!
We have teamed up with the Denver Zoo, Bees Waggle, and other conservation groups to do habitat restoration right here on SVE property! We will build a walking path through the area so that everyone can enjoy the splendid and precious species that are native to the Highlands Ranch area. Our "Biodiversity Park" will be a great benefit to pollinators and migratory bird species!
We are going to participate in a Colorado wide energy reduction challenge for the second year in a row. We're going for gold this year!
With the help of an American Kestrel expert, we will be building nesting boxes, putting them up, monitoring them, and report back our findings. These tiny raptors are in decline nationwide and listed as endangered in some states. We're going to do our part to help scientists figure out what's causing this decline and how to help!
The students are tasked with project planning, educating their peers, and building school-wide support for our projects. The first meeting for our club is Tuesday, August 15th and we will meet on most Tuesdays this year .
