Before I write/communicate I should always think…….
- Purpose - Why I am writing/communicating this / what is my reason for writing
- (for example…. am I writing this to: tell a story, to inform people about something, to explain something I did, to show gratitude (thanks), to argue a point or to prove your thinking, etc.
BASED ON YOUR PURPOSE:
- your word choice
- your tone
- your style
- your format (email, letter, SCR(paragraph), essay, text, post)
- EVIDENCE (you should ALWAYS provide a minimum of 3 pieces of evidence to prove ‘why’ you are writing.)
Audience - Who will read this or hear this or see this (who will evaluate this) Who you are writing to
BASED ON YOUR AUDIENCE:
- Your word choice
- Your tone
- Your depth of information
- The quality type of your evidence
Is ‘How well you listen’ a form of communication? (Is it a skill you have and you use?)
