Kathie Marcilliat

My name is Kathie Marcilliat. (Pronounced mar-silly-ut)

I grew up in a small, rural town in Northeast Ohio and earned my Bachelor’s degree in accounting and business administration from a small, private liberal arts college. After earning my Bachelor’s degree, I worked in the business world for about 15 years and enjoyed some great experiences and had the opportunity to live in the San Francisco Bay area and Charlotte, NC  before moving to Pensacola, FL where I was finally able to pursue my passion - education.

For 17 years, I worked as an English teacher where for the majority of my time in the classroom, I taught struggling readers.  In addition, I served as the English department chair where I had the privilege and experience to work with and advise new teachers. Those opportunities are what drove me to pursue a Master's degree in Curriculum & Instruction and complete courses in Education Leadership.

I am thrilled to be the Assistant Principal at Sierra Middle School!!!

I believe that every child can achieve high expectations.  My passion and goal are to help all students achieve high expectations and make a positive difference for students, parents, and the community.

Here is to a great year!
