About Señora (Mrs.) Burke

I was born and raised in Colombia and moved to Utah in 2005. I attended Brigham Young University and obtained a B.A. in Spanish Teaching. I have lived in Colorado since 2012 and I love it, but I am new to Parker. Before teaching at Sierra, I taught Middle School at McAuliffe International School in Denver for 3 years. I love teaching! I love the connections I create with my students and how amazing they are at learning and embracing the different stages that life brings them. My students are AMAZING!!!!

I am married and we have 2 daughters. I love my family, they are amazing people who help me and support me in incredible ways. There are a lot of things I like to do when I am not teaching. For example, I like to spend time with my family, go on bike rides and hikes. I love cooking, finding new recipes and challenging myself at baking --I am not a very good baker, but I am getting better at it. I also like reading, but lately life is busy so I listen to a lot of books . I love the feeling of getting myself lost in the stories the authors tell. Likewise, I love listening to podcasts and I learn a lot from them.

I am excited to teach here at Sierra and continue to create new friendships and create community!
