Hello! My name is Sarah Canivez and I am a speech-language pathologist at Mountain Peak Elementary. This is my 9th year working in DCSD and I am so excited to start a new adventure at MPE! I am originally from central Illinois and have lived in Colorado since 2018. I enjoy all of the wonderful activities that this state has to offer! I graduated from Southern Illinois University- Edwardsville with my master's degree in speech-language pathology. I am married to my high school sweetheart, Clayton, and we also have two cats. We love to camp, hike, paddle board, and travel. Some of my personal interests include reading, needlepoint, piano and guitar, exercising, and planning my next adventure! 

While the scope of practice for an SLP is extensive, my areas of expertise and passion include phonological speech sound disorders, AAC, autism, and play-based/child-led therapy approaches. I look forward to meeting each student's needs in a way that is fun, positive, and goal focused.
