Mrs. Schmalhorst

Hello! I'm Mrs. Schmalhorst (Mrs. S for short) and I am so excited to be teaching 7th grade Language Arts on Team Colorado! This is my sixth year teaching and I am blessed to be at a great school like Sierra! I grew up in Highlands Ranch and am so happy to call Colorado my home. My husband and I love taking advantage of Colorado's wonderful nature with our two dogs Frank and Eevee!

I absolutely adore reading and writing, and I love watching students discover the power of language. Throughout this year we will be exploring everything from short stories and novels, to argumentative writing and poetry. Our units include themes such as Identity and Human Rights.

Hobbies- Reading and Hiking

Sports- Jayhawk basketball and the Colorado Rockies

Candy- Snickers

Movie- All the Harry Potter movies :)
