A little about me...
My desire to become an educator began years ago upon observing and working within a classroom managed by an educator of thirty years...my mom. After a few years of focused studies within the School of Education at the University of Northern Colorado, I graduated in May of 1998 with a degree in the Social Sciences, emphasis in Elementary Education.
This is my 26th year of teaching and 24th year in the Douglas County School District. I have had opportunities to teach 4th-6th graders at a couple of different schools in Douglas County and have enjoyed the several years spent teaching in this constantly growing and developing community. The majority of my career as an educator to this point has been spent here at Heritage Elementary.
I live in Parker with my wife and dog. I am an outdoor enthusiast and enjoy fishing, camping, four-wheeling in my modified Jeep Wrangler, hiking, and photographing nature. Spring and summer are my favorite times of year. Around home I enjoy: going to or renting movies, cooking, working out, riding horses, dining at a variety of restaurants (Pappadeaux's, Maggiano's, PF Chang's, Hacienda, etc.), playing Super Scrabble, reading a good book, and taking my dog to the park. I cherish time spent with my wife, family, and friends. In addition, I cherish the opportunities to spend time learning with and teaching children. I cannot imagine a career more rewarding for me than being an educator!
