Number Sense: the 'ability to understand, relate, and connect numbers.'
Computations (Operations): a mathematical process often including calculation of +, -, x, ÷ at the elementary level.
Measurement: the comparing of an unknown quantity with a known quantity (weight, volume, mass, height, temperature, time, etc.)
Geometry: the ability to understand and work with shapes, lines, angles and space both in 2-dimensions (2D) and 3- dimensions (3D)
Data Analysis/ Statistics: the process of systematically collecting, organizing, analyzing, and evaluating statistical information in order to make informed decisions.
Algebraic Thinking: 'the ability to recognize patterns, represent relationships, make generalizations, and analyze how things change.'
Phonemic Awareness: 'the ability to focus on and manipulate phonemes (sounds) in spoken syllables and words.'
Phonics: 'the relationship between the letters in written language and the individual sounds in spoken language.'
Fluency: the ability 'to read orally with appropriate speed, accuracy, and proper expression.'
Vocabulary: the ability to read and understand the word in order to comprehend a text
Comprehension- Literary & Information Text: 'the complex cognitive process readers use to understand what they have read.'
