Welcome to our classroom! I am so excited to be your child's third grade teacher at Pine Lane Elementary! Third grade is such a fun year filled with new adventures, exciting discoveries, and opportunities to grow. I can't wait to get to know each of my students and make this a wonderful year of learning together!

What We Study in 3rd Grade: 

• Reading: Throughout the year, students will work through the 10 units of the Benchmark Literacy Program. We will build skills in reading comprehension, vocabulary, fluency, phonics, and responding to texts.

• Math:  Using the iReady Math curriculum, students will build their mathematical understanding through a variety of topics, including:

  • Addition and subtraction with regrouping

  • Multiplication

  • Division

  • Fractions

  • Geometry

• Social Studies: Students will explore the world around them through four main areas of social studies:

  • Economics

  • Geography

  • Civics

  • History

• Science: Through hands-on learning, investigation, and discussion, students will explore:

• Force and Motion

• Life Cycles

• Weather and Climate
