Meet Mrs. Long

I am passionate about helping children gain confidence in themselves and find their strengths. My focus will be first and foremost on helping your child feel safe, secure, and happy at school, as well as differentiating curriculum to meet your child's needs academically and target lagging skills. I am your go-to point of contact for all things academic and I look forward to working closely with you and your child this year. We are a team and I will be your child's biggest advocate while they are at Pine Lane Elementary. 

I grew up in DCSD (k-12) and love being back in the district. This will be my 10th year teaching in DougCo and I'm excited to return to my roots at Pine Lane where I attended K-6 many years ago. I have a diverse set of teaching credentials including Elementary, Special Ed., English, Health, PE, and FACS and love pulling from my knowledge in the various subject areas to help your child reach their full academic potential. 

Outside of school I enjoy spending my time with my family. We love to be out in nature and soaking in the fresh air, as well as playing at home while my husband and I marvel at how quickly our toddlers are learning everything! We have the best of both worlds with a sassy 3 year old girl and a charming 1.5 year old boy. I love researching the current developmental philosophies and facilitating imaginative and educational play opportunities for them. I'm also passionate about animals and we have 5 pets at home that we enjoy snuggling and spoiling.
