Mrs. Messer's Class
Class overview
In our 3rd Grade Discovery, we will focus on depth and complexity, while moving at a more rapid pace than in the typical 3rd grade classroom. Our quick pace will afford us with opportunities to expand, elaborate, and think beyond. My goal is to move at a pace to keep the students engaged, but not so that they are overwhelmed or are not mastering concepts. I will help students to take ownership of their learning through exploration. Our class will thrive as we learn from and work with each other this year!
Family
My family and I moved from Omaha, NE two years ago. My husband Jon and I have two daughters Cora and Quinn, and one Great Dane, Claire.
Teaching
This is my 10th year in teaching, and it's my third year at NRE and teaching Discovery. I have a BFA in Graphic Design (RMCAD), and BS in Elementary Education (Buena Vista University), and I have my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction (Doane University). My graduate work focused on Growth Mindset and mindfulness in the classroom. I am pursuing post-graduate work in GT. I aim to help your child grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
