Hi, my name is Shannon Able. I am a Colorado native. I am currently living in Parker, Colorado. I am the oldest of 3. I have two younger brothers. I attended Colorado State University. Go Rams!
In my free time, I love to read a good book, do yoga, go shopping, and hang out with family and friends. I love to play and spend time with my French Bulldog, Obi! I am a big sports fan. I love watching the Broncos, Avalanche, Rockies, and my brothers play sports. My happy place is the beach in Cape Cod.
I was born and raised here in Parker. I actually attended Northeast as a student and I am excited to be back! I graduated from Colorado State University with my degree in Early Childhood Education and an endorsement in Elementary Education. Go Rams! This will be my 6th year teaching. My first year I taught kindergarten in Loveland, Colorado and the last 5 years, I taught 3rd grade. This is my 2nd year as a teacher at Northeast. I am so very excited to be an Eagle!
Hi! My name is Mykala Dummar and I am so excited to be teaching 3rd grade at Northeast Elementary this coming school year! This will be my third year as an Eagle at Northeast and my fifth year teaching.
I went to college in Phoenix, where I attended Grand Canyon University and then began my teaching journey. Before living in Arizona, I grew up in northern Nevada. I am very passionate about learning and have been inspired by my previous teachers who helped me succeed in my academic journey. I look forward to building a classroom community full of encouragement and motivation!
Outside of being in the classroom, I enjoy traveling. My favorite downtime involves exploring new places. I also enjoy hiking and anything that involves being outdoors.
Please feel free to email me at mdummar@dcsdk12.org if you have any questions!
Hello! My name is Cheriden Hawk and this will be my fifth year teaching at Northeast Elementary! I have split my years of teaching between third and fourth grades and I love this age. I grew up in Yukon, OK just outside of Oklahoma City. I knew from a very young age I wanted to be a teacher. I always played "school" with my sister, but hardly ever let her be the teacher! I knew it was a higher calling for me when in high school I spent Saturday mornings tutoring inner-city children at my church and loved it. I went to Southwestern Oklahoma State University and majored in Elementary Education. I returned to my hometown and taught there for two and a half years before moving to Colorado and have been a Northeast Eagle since then!
My husband, Brett, and I met in high school and have been married for nine years. He is in the Army National Guard and works in Cybersecurity. Our one year old son is an independent and curious little guy and he keeps us pretty busy! We have a four year old rescue dog named Foxtrot and we love going on walks as a family. As a family, we attend Lighthouse Church in Parker where I serve in kids ministry and sing and my husband is one of the worship drummers. We are a family who love music, even our young son will turn anything into a drum! Some of my hobbies include hiking, traveling, DIY projects, offroading, reading, cooking, yoga/fitness classes, camping and sustainable living. I enjoy pretty much anything if it is outdoors!
Hello! My name is Nadine Hill. I am so excited to be back at Northeast Elementary for another school year! This is my 12th year teaching, and I cannot imagine doing anything else. I studied to become a teacher at UCCS with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education.
I grew up in Colorado Springs, but we are looking forward to another year in Parker! My husband is also in the teaching profession and a wrestling coach. I have a son who will be in first grade next year. We have two lovable dogs named Marley and Grizzly. I enjoy running, hiking, camping, playing soccer, and going to the movies. My family and I love being outdoors as much as we can, which is why we love Colorado.
Within the classroom, I encourage all students to try their best. I believe in helping to create great minds and curiosity, but also emphasize great citizenship and respect inside and outside of the classroom. I look forward to getting to know the staff, students, and parents at Northeast!
Hello! My name is Tara Stalker. I am excited to be teaching third grade again this school year! I have a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of New Mexico. After staying home to raise my own children, I have been blessed to be a part of the wonderful Northeast family for the last ten years.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family. On our days together we enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking and exploring Colorado. Even our miniature poodle, Pip, comes along for a kayak ride!
Within the classroom, I encourage all my students to try their best and to embody our Northeast character traits: integrity, compassion, collaboration, craftsmanship, resiliency and stewardship. Through engaging activities, I inspire a love of learning. I enjoy goal setting with my students and allow them to be an active learner in the classroom. I believe all students are important and valuable members of our classroom and the Northeast community.
I am always happy to help, answer any questions you might have, and need volunteers in the classroom. Please feel free to email me at tara.stalker@dcsdk12.org. I look forward to hearing from you!
