My name is Emalie Berke and I am a third grade teacher at Northridge Elementary School! I grew up in a town called Simsbury, Connecticut. I attended the University of Connecticut (GO HUSKIES!) and earned both a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education and a Masters of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction. I also received a Certificate in Special Education from Relay Graduate School of Education. I was very lucky to have spent part of my Master's year studying in London, England. There I studied Global Citizenship and worked at a primary school where 42 different languages were spoken!
This is my fourteenth year teaching and my fourth year at Northridge. Previously, I taught second grade in Willimantic, Connecticut and first grade in the South Bronx. I have a brother, sister, two nieces and two nephews that all live in Colorado, too! I have a Bichon Frise named Benji, who I absolutely love to go on walks and snuggle with. I also enjoy traveling, cooking, listening to Taylor Swift, seeing plays, trying new restaurants and watching college basketball!
