Get ready for an incredible school year!
I'm absolutely thrilled to kick off my 27th year at Cougar Run Elementary with the same passion and excitement I felt way back in 1981 when I first started teaching! My journey into education began right here in Littleton, at Arapahoe High School, where amazing teachers ignited my lifelong love of learning. I'm proud to hold a BS in Early Childhood Education and an MS in Administration, both of which have fueled my dedication to creating a dynamic and supportive classroom environment.
This summer, I enjoyed some much-needed time at home, sprucing up my garden with vibrant flowers and diving into UFLI coursework to enhance my language arts instruction. I even explored a new corner of Colorado, visiting Palisade for the first time! Though it was cherry season instead of peach, I had a blast catching up with my best college friend. While summer adventures are fun, I truly come alive during the school year and eagerly anticipate meeting each new group of students. I'm so excited to embark on a fantastic year of learning and growth with your child!
On a more personal note, my son, Nick, is a proud product of Douglas County Schools, having graduated from Highlands Ranch High School in 2007. He went on to earn an engineering degree from the University of Colorado (yes, even though I'm a CSU Ram!). He's now a Major in the US Marine Corps, specializing in Logistics. Nick, my wonderful daughter-in-law Kristin, my adorable grandson Declan (who turns two in December!), and their two big German Shepherds, Mattis and Riley, live in Sneads Ferry, North Carolina. I was lucky enough to visit them twice this past summer!
I can't wait to share my enthusiasm for learning with your child and make this a truly memorable year!
