I am honored to be teaching 6th grade again this year at MHE. Prior to this year, I have taught both 5th and 6th grades at MHE. With pride, I can say that I have spent my entire teaching career at Mammoth Heights; this will be my 17th year working with the community that I love. I feel blessed to spend my days with MHE’s incredible students, and I look forward to fostering a positive learning environment through mindfulness, growing confidence, and seeing the strengths in others.
I grew up in Colorado (Arvada) and have never thought about leaving our incredible state. I completed my bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Colorado in Boulder (go Buffs!). I have two children (both are Chaparral High School graduates). Both of my kids are graduates of the University of Colorado as well. My husband is a science teacher and volleyball coach at Grandview High School, and is also a part-owner of Elevation Volleyball. Outside of school, I love spending time at my boys’ and husband's sporting events and with my large extended family. Gardening, reading, hiking/walking, and watching basketball and volleyball are some of my favorite pastimes. I especially enjoy going to CU football and basketball games, and I am obsessed with hats; I would wear one every day if I could! I am eagerly looking forward to having a fun and successful classroom experience filled with kindness, innovative learning, and critical thinking.
