We have been having fun in music class so far this year! There has been lots of singing and experimenting with different instruments such as egg shakers, castanets, maracas, tambourines, and rhythm sticks.
This year, 3rd graders will learn patriotic songs to perform for Veteran's Day and will be doing a Recorder unit. 4th and 5th graders will be doing a unit on the ukulele. The 2nd grade classes will work on learning songs for a spring performance, and Kindergarteners will be learning about musical opposites such as high/low, loud/soft, and fast/slow. I am hoping to do a spring performance with the 4th graders, as well. I will also be doing a keyboard unit with all grades in the spring semester.
