Meet Mrs. Meza

My name is Christa Meza and this is my eighth year at Cimarron Middle School. I am very excited to be here! I am entering my fifteenth year of teaching. I have a bachelors degree in K-6 Education.  I have experience teaching kindergarten, second grade and 4th grade at Iron Horse Elementary.

I am originally from a small town in Western Colorado called Hotchkiss.  My husband and I are blessed with three beautiful boys. As a family, my husband, sons and I love sports and also love being outdoors. The Colorado Rockies and the Denver Broncos are some of our favorite teams to go and watch. We also enjoy camping and fishing.

I have always really enjoyed teaching Social Studies no matter which grade level I have taught.  Students need to know they have an impact no matter the size or complexity of the global issues they study.  In sixth grade, we will not only study the history, economics, civics, and geography of the world, but through our studies, we will learn how the world works. We will learn about the past, present and vision of the future.  We learn about roles as active citizens at the local, state, national, and global level. Together, we explore the Western Hemisphere which will include North America, Middle America, and South America. I am excited to go on this journey with you!
