WELCOME TO FOURTH GRADE!
Buckle up for an excellent experience!
It is exceedingly important to me as an educator and a guide to offer the best learning opportunities that I can to each individual 4th grade student under my care. It is a partnership - between me and the student, their caretakers and the numerous talented professionals housed here at Copper Mesa. It requires diligence, determination and patience - all things worth having do, don't they? Good things are afoot! Let's see how at unfolds.
About Me!
What an incredible strike of good fortune to be back in 4th grade for the 2025-26 year! This is my fifth year at CME and my fourth teaching 4th grade here. I earned my Masters Degree from Johns Hopkins University in 2001 and have been teaching since then in Maryland and in Colorado, with two very important hiatuses to raise my daughters, Libby and Claire.
In May 2025, my husband Chris and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary! We've lived in Colorado since August 2001, having moved out here not long after I finished graduate school at Johns Hopkins.
We have two daughters, Libby and Claire. Libby graduated from the Clark Honors College at The University of Oregon in June 2024 with a degree in Environmental Sciences and a minor in Mathematics. Claire is set for an early graduation this December at San Diego State University where she is a Biology major, though her true passion is Chemistry. (I was an English Major with a Writing Concentration a million years ago in undergrad at Towson State University so I am incredibly proud of my girls for successfully pursuing the Sciences!)
We have an excellent dog named Bailey and one old cat, Pinya, as well as an orphaned aquarium that's down to just two fish swimming around inside of it. There are many plants in our house, too. It's good to always have something to take care of outside of yourself in the world. 👍❤️
