Welcome! To my class website. Even though our typical go-to is our Google Classrooms, you'll find a little bit of information below to help you navigate our learning experiences and tools for this school year. The directions for our Google Classroom work are below (as well as how to get involved as a "guardian" in the Classroom environment) and the links to the related Google Meets can be found on the "Google Meet Links" page.
This is a go-to for logging into pretty much all the applications we use in DCSD.
STEMscopes provides comprehensive digital resources, supplemental print materials, and hands-on exploration kits that drive engagement and academic growth.
Gizmos are interactive math and science simulations for grades 3-12. Over 400 Gizmos align to the latest standards to me bring powerful new learning experiences to the classroom.
Info here . . .
And, to be getting updates on your student's work as a "guardian" for his/her class, please email me (see my email below) and let me know you'd like to be added.
Excited for Science . . . and coffee!
My name is Mr. Burg. And I've been teaching science for 5 years. I am currently here at Cresthill working on my 6th, and am very excited to be back in the Highlands Ranch community!
My passions are varied but know that one of my favorite things to do is to be in our middle school, working with our students, and teaching science. It doesn't get any better than this!
I'm also an avid hiker and love to sample various foods from any hole in the wall restaurants I can find. During my free time I freelance as a NHL 2019 player (I don't get paid but I do enjoy playing video games when I have time).
Colorado Science Standards -- use the selector tool to drill down to any curricular area and grade within the science standards listings. Find "science, grade 8" to see what is foundation to all of the learning we have going on in our classroom.
Google classroom is going to be the most helpful resource for you this year.
Daily agenda's can be found on the main stream.
Assignments for the week can be found on the classwork tab under the week that those assignments were given.
Some assignments need to be turned in using google classroom, others are completed through a website called STEMscopes. This website automatically turns in assignments once the student has clicked the "submit" button.
I will try my best to make clear what assignments are STEMscope assignments.
