I am happy to return for my fourth year at Mesa Middle School! I grew up in Littleton and graduated from Arapahoe High School. I got my Bachelor's degree from Regis University and my Master's degree from University of Colorado Denver. I moved to Virginia 23 years ago, where I was a high school counselor for 18 years. I am excited to be back in Colorado and I'm currently spending time reconnecting with old friends and exploring the many changes since I left.
My goal as a counselor is to build connections with students by listening with empathy and compassion to become a trusted adult they can talk to when needed. I will be an advocate to support them as they navigate through school and grow academically, socially, and personally. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or concerns.

I am honored to have the opportunity to support students every day! I have been working with students in the educational field for thirty-six years, as a counselor and as a teacher, at both the high school and the middle school levels. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree, in English, at Colorado State University, and my Master's degrees in both Education and School Counseling. I was blessed to be named the Middle School Counselor of the Year for the 2008-2009 school year by the Colorado School Counselor Association.
When I'm not working with middle school students, I like spending time outdoors (enjoying nature and taking pictures), traveling, going to Nuggets games with my husband, spending time with my friends and family, reading a good book, and volunteering at the Denver Zoo (I love animals!).

I am so excited to be coming to Mesa Middle School for the upcoming school year. I have worked in Douglas County School District as a School Counselor for eight years and this will be my ninth year as a School Counselor. I received my Master’s Degree in School Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado and my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Fort Lewis College.
As a school counselor, I will work with students on their social emotional needs, their academic needs, and assisting them with developing life skills. I really enjoy working with students and helping them grow both academically and socially. Outside of school, I like spending time with friends and family and enjoying all that Colorado has to offer.

I am excited for my fourth year at MMS! I graduated with my Master's Degree from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities and moved to Colorado in 2022. I love continuing to explore this beautiful state. A little bit about me: I love to hike, be outdoors, read, travel, and go to concerts.
My counseling lens revolves around meeting students where they are at and empowering them to work through challenges by teaching them the necessary skills to be successful academically, socially, and emotionally. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.
