Welcome to Mountain View Elementary and First Grade!

Hi families! Welcome to our class page! I am originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, and I moved to Colorado in July. I graduated from Concordia College-Moorhead with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, along with a Spanish endorsement. I did my student teaching in both a first grade and third grade classroom, and I worked as a first grade teacher last year in a charter school in Minnesota.

While I do certainly miss the "Land of 10,000 Lakes" (Fun fact: There are actually 11,842 lakes in Minnesota!), I love living in Colorado already. I am enjoying the opportunity to go on long hikes on the weekends, and I am looking forward to learning how to ski this winter! I also love to spend my free time paddle boarding, kayaking, camping, and taking yoga classes.

I am passionate about the social-emotional side of education, and I love teaching different character traits like kindness, courage, empathy, and integrity. My favorite part about teaching is watching my students grow into good human beings.

We have an incredible group of students in our class, and I know that we will have a wonderful year together! Thank you for your help and support!
