About Miss Rust 

Hello! My name is Megan Rust. I am excited to be teaching 8th grade English language arts on the Arctic team at Ranch View Middle School. This will be my 6th year teaching. Prior to teaching at Ranch View, I taught 4th grade at Northridge Elementary in Highlands Ranch for 2 years, and I taught 7th grade English language arts in Scottsbluff, Nebraska for 3 years. 

 Though I am a Colorado native and former DCSD student, Nebraska holds a special place in my heart. I attended Chadron State College in northwest Nebraska where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (K-8) and Middle Level Education: Language Arts (5-9) and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction: Reading Specialist (PK-12). As a lifelong learner, I intend to continue my education in the near future. 

It is my belief that all students are welcome and belong in my classroom. I work to ensure that students see their differences as a strength not a barrier and understand that through our differences we can grow and develop as individuals. I also believe that since we all learn differently, it is important to provide students with multiple opportunities to demonstrate their knowledge. 

Though I love teaching, I do enjoy doing things outside of the realm of education. In my free time I enjoy walking, reading, finding the perfect sunset, warm weather, spending time with family and friends, cheering on the Nebraska Huskers,  attending concerts, devouring one too many sweets, and playing with my dogs.
